deeply concerned that Orion had designs on his sister Artemis. He told the
Earth Goddess of Orion's boast. From this deadly meeting came the inspiration
for the music you have been waiting for. Destiny has decided that the Sultanate
of Oman will be remembered for THE one and THE only -

... has been in its present form for a short while, previous members have come and gone (and even eloped!), but it has to be said that at this moment, this line up have found some magic fairy dust. Check out the myths and legends of 1 2 3 Orion band members:
ERICH SARBOLIS - Lead guitarist, good
egg, wine connoisseur and the musical genius behind the band. He spent his
formative years growing up in a Romanian orphanage, before begin discovered
(playing the bed springs in a long abandoned padded cell) by a photographer from
the Sunday Mail. Following a very public appeal for funds to bring him to Oman
he arrived in 2000 and soon achieved his qualification as rock genius. He is the
'Roll' of the band and the only band member to have been chosen by John Peel (R.I.P)
for his record of the week. Erich is very reluctant to mention this first step
on the ladder to fame until he has had at least seven cocktails and half a
bottle of Jacobs Creek (six medallions minimum). A true Ongo Boy
VANYA HELSINGBORG - Lead vocalist and the 'Rock' of the band, she has
experienced many highs and lows of the rock industry, but like Erich she came
from humble beginnings. Vanya worked initially as senior goat herder to the Emir
of Liechtenstein, but as she grew up she wanted more out of life and fled the
ravages of the Liechtenstein civil war. She ended up as a 'rock chick' in
London, Paris and Jeddah. On moving to Oman in 2000 she took the lead in
ensuring that Omans small, but indigenous population of desert Lemurs did not
die out. Many of the gigs have raised money for this conservation project that
is dear to her heart. Her talents are diverse and unique, she really has made
Riding on the Back of a Horse a classic in the racing world.
MUFFIN BURT - A long time lead singer, but only in the realms of her
imagination - until the rhythm of 1 2 3 Orion gripped her like a grippy thing.
She has gone from strength to strength, under the watchful eye of young Vanya.
Watch out all you mermaid fans out there, never has their been a better time to
catch one, than when Muffin is singing 'Sirens', her rendition of which is
receiving rave reviews in the Omani music press. How she finds time to rehearse
has become a rock and roll legend and a credit too her husbands ability to
multi-task. The Garden of Eden has never been so full.
ZIGGY GIBSON - The missing love child of David Bowie's alter ego and that
old Aussie rocker Mel Gibson - a sweet voice to sooth the soul. Ziggy has a
smell of raw talent about her. She keeps on blasting out the hits, one after the
other. She claims that she 'Wants to go Home', but we want her to stay out and
party. Ziggy has a close affinity with Blind Boy McBracken - they both enter
into mysterious conversations in broad patois that is born from a true rock and
blues life style - 'bring it on' is fast becoming her 'thing' as well as her
catch phrase.
BLIND BOY MCBRACKEN - He is blind and he is a boy - a talent to be messed
with, the one, the only BLIND Boy. Don't be fooled by the quiet unassuming
nature of this young man, underneath that cool calm exterior he is simmering
with blindness. First discovered playing the Delta Blues outside a night club in
the steamy atmosphere of Auchtermuchty - speaking a mixture of pidgin english
with a French/Glasgow lilt added complications to the phrase "it's a braw,
bricht, moonlight nicht" however its this uniqueness that has made him the
classic bass guitarist of the modern era - listen and learn.
STEED SCOTIA - Steed is a very close relative to a famous band leader and
solo artist. We will leave to your imagination who that is - but I bet he can
'Feel It Coming in the Air Tonight'. He has a silky, milky smooth voice that
tempts young ladies onto the dance floor, what a soulful contribution he makes
to the band. On his days off he can usually be found Jet Skiing on one of Omans
great rivers, he is skilled enough to complete the full length of several, from
the source to the sea - riding the rapids all the way. In the evenings he sells
hand pickled Omani dates to tourists on Muttrah Corniche - he has become a local
land mark of some significance - love is not too smaller word to describe
peoples affection for his wrinkly dates.
TITUS CHUMP - Do not consider Titus as just another band member, he is
more of an all round entertainer AND a drumming sensation. He drums like a man
possessed and provides much needed entertainment with his sticks while Erich and
Blind Boy are discussing the finer points of percussion. He turned professional
at the age of 32 and is now available for hire, he specialises in weddings,
beach/pool parties and of course 'Because the Night BBQ ' at Ruwi fish market.
HAWK TIMIMI - 123 Orion have gone through a fair few keyboard players in
recent years. They have set the standard too high for many, apologies to
Zoon and Eek, but the new man has it 100%. Years of working his finger magic in
the throats of the rich and famous have paid off, he slips easily around the
keys, as though he is performing a full root canal. Hawk aquired his name from
a childhood spent with the a Tribe of Native Indians in the foot hills
of the Black Mountains in Powys and Monmouthshire - "Iechyd Da!" Hawk
